With over 18 years experience, Christine Zilinski opened the doors of salon concrete in 2000 with the intention of creating a different salon experience for guests and hairdressers alike.  By challenging industry norms and conducting business in an innovative way, Christine has achieved great results for both salon concrete’s guests and team.

Her emphasis has been on providing a well-rounded education for her team, from creative and technical hairdressing skill certification to customer service and business management.  Christine prides herself in mentoring a team that can give guests the best hair they have ever had while providing a sophisticated yet unpretentious, comfortable atmosphere.  Christine’s passion for the fashion-forward, edgy style is reflected in her staff, salon space and location.

In 1993, at Vidal Sassoon in New York City, Christine experienced intensive training and growth as a seasoned stylist.  Her passion for taking hairdressing to new levels has taken her around the world.  Teaching for several years at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Los Angeles (www.sassoon.com) lit a new fire of sharing her experiences and knowledge with the next generation of hairdressers.  During her time at the Academy, Christine styled hair for commercials, makeovers, talk shows, platform artist and photo shoots.

The decision to open a salon that provides both education and solid careers was the natural next step.  Although this endeavor brought Christine back to the east coast, she is now the national visionary artist for Davines, a prestigious company based out of Parma, Italy (www.davines.com).  Davines and Salon Concrete share a spirit and vision of beauty and doing what we believe in, not what is mainstream.  This includes becoming more conscious of our impact on the environment, on our health and well being. 

Christine’s personal goal of improving the salon industry’s reputation and lifting the status quo is being realized one salon at a time.  For the past 4 years, she has been a certified salon consultant through Strategies (www.strategies.com), the premiere resource for business growth in the salon and spa industry.  Christine travels nationwide to coach salon owners and managers on how to jump start every aspect of their business.
